2026 Termi Home & Commercial Conference and FAOPMA Pest Summit
The 2026 Termi Home & Commercial national conference brought franchisees from across the country together in New Zealand to share knowledge, recognise achievements and discuss the opportunities shaping our business and the industries in which we operate.
This year’s conference marked only the second time it has been held overseas, with Auckland, New Zealand being chosen to coincide with this year’s annual FAOPMA Pest Summit.
Across two informative days, we welcomed several guest speakers to our event. In this article, we look back at their presentations and reflect on our time at the 2026 FAOPMA Pest Summit.

Tim Reardon
We were pleased to once again welcome Tim Reardon, Chief Economist at the Housing Industry Association (HIA), who previously joined us in Sydney for our 2019 conference.
Tim has extensive experience across economics, government relations and industry policy, and leads the HIA Economics team. He presented on the economic influences shaping the Australian housing market, providing an excellent overview of the many factors currently affecting the industry.
Tim’s presentation explored how government policy, housing supply, investor participation, migration, household finances and the rising cost of constructing new homes are influencing the industries in which Termi Home & Commercial operates.
A key focus was Australia’s ability to deliver the volume of new housing needed to meet demand. Tim explained that future construction levels will depend heavily on policies influencing investment, workforce capacity, infrastructure delivery and the cost of bringing new housing to market.
Stephen Ware
Stephen Ware has served as Executive Director of the Australian Environmental Pest Managers Association (AEPMA) since 2008 and has more than 20 years of senior executive experience. Throughout his career, Stephen has worked closely with federal and state governments, advocating for the pest management industry and helping develop policy on complex issues affecting its members.
Stephen presented on the global future of pest management and the forces expected to shape the industry in the years ahead. His presentation explored how pest management is evolving beyond traditional servicing and reactive treatments to digital reporting, data analysis, audit compliance, integrated pest management strategies and greater environmental accountability.
Stephen highlighted how climate change may alter pest distribution and extend activity seasons, while growing expectations surrounding sustainability, wildlife protection, food safety and responsible pesticide use will continue to influence the delivery of pest management services.
Prue Wernicke
Prue Wernicke is the Head of Client Success & Operations at Formitize, a digital business management platform that helps organisations manage scheduling, forms, customer records, compliance documents and automated workflows within one system.
Since joining Formitize in 2018, Prue has worked with organisations ranging from small family-run businesses through to national and global enterprises, helping them streamline workflows, automate administration and meet regulatory obligations. She has also worked closely with Termi Home & Commercial teams in New South Wales and Brisbane for several years, supporting the transition of their operational processes onto the Formitize platform.
Prue’s presentation explored practical ways our network can use Formitize to streamline daily administration, improve compliance and increase profitability. She addressed common business challenges such as double handling, missed recurring inspections and limited visibility across operations and systems that do not communicate with each other.
Chris Demetriou and Alex Veal
Chris Demetriou and Alex Veal joined us to introduce Demtech Australia to our network. The Melbourne-based manufacturer specialises in waterproofing products and systems for internal and external wet areas, drainage and balcony applications.
Demtech has established a productive relationship with our Brisbane team over the past two years, having supplied them with waterproofing products, technical support, training and onsite quality assurance.
Building on this existing relationship, Chris and Alex presented Demtech’s broader business capabilities to the wider network. They demonstrated how Demtech’s systems can help simplify wet-area construction, reduce installation time and address common challenges associated with traditional waterproofing screeds.
2026 FAOPMA Pest Summit
Following our two-day national conference, operations managers from across the Termi Home & Commercial network joined pest management professionals of the Asia-Pacific region at the 2026 FAOPMA Pest Summit.
The Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers Associations (FAOPMA) is a non-profit organisation established to strengthen and promote the professional pest management industry across Asia and Oceania. Each year, FAOPMA hosts a summit that brings industry professionals together to share knowledge, discuss emerging challenges and learn about developments shaping pest management across the region.
This year’s summit was co-hosted by the Pest Management Association of New Zealand (PMANZ) and AEPMA under the theme “FutureProof: Smarter Pest Solutions for a Rapidly Changing World”.
Opening ceremony and awards dinner
The summit officially began with an opening ceremony led by the presidents of PMANZ, AEPMA and FAOPMA. This was followed by a karakia and Māori welcome from the Turongo Collective, providing a distinctly New Zealand opening to the event.
The exhibition hall then opened to give delegates their first opportunity to meet exhibitors and learn more about new pest management solutions. The opening day concluded with the FAOPMA Executive Committee Dinner and Australian Awards Night held at The Maritime Room. Congratulations go to all the award winners.
Two days of pest management insights
The two-day FOAPMA event featured presentations across two concurrent streams, giving delegates the opportunity to explore a wide range of technical, environmental and business topics affecting the pest management industry.
Dr Michelle Dickinson opened the first full day with a keynote presentation encouraging attendees to remain curious, adapt and prepare for rapid changes in the industry.
FAOPMA Gala Dinner
To celebrate the coming together of the dedicated people in the pest management industry, we joined other delegates at the New Zealand International Convention Centre for the FAOPMA Gala Dinner. The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on the Summit and continue conversations with pest management professionals from across the region.
We were treated to a delicious entrée of spear-caught yellowtail kingfish sashimi, followed by a buffet dinner and refreshments. Before the evening ended, the Philippines was announced as the host country for the 2027 FAOPMA Pest Summit.
