Are termites a problem in The Riverina’s dry climate?
Very much so. Subterranean termites draw moisture from deep soil, irrigation and watered gardens rather than relying on rainfall, so dry inland conditions do little to slow them down. Inland New South Wales consistently records high termite activity, and The Riverina is no exception.
Do termite barriers stop ants?
Termimesh is engineered and certified specifically as a termite management system, so it is not intended as an ant treatment. The fine mesh does restrict some soil pests at the points where it is installed, but if ants are a concern in your home or on your site, a targeted treatment through a pest control professional is the right approach.
How does the barrier handle slab movement?
The stainless steel mesh is flexible enough to accommodate the normal expansion, contraction and minor movement of a concrete slab, including at construction joints, without compromising protection. It is engineered for exactly this purpose.
Can Termimesh be installed on an extension or renovation?
Yes. Any new slab work, including extensions, granny flats and major renovations, can be protected during construction in the same way as a new home. For the existing parts of the building, our team can advise on inspection and management options, so the whole property is covered.
