Located in the southern Perth suburb of Baldivis, Mother Teresa Catholic College is a modern co-educational facility, catering for students from pre-kindergarten to Year 12.

The school opened in 2013 and has been progressively expanded. Stage 5 has recently been completed with Stage 6 currently under construction. Termimesh has been specified and installed on this project since Stage 3.

Background

The College’s ongoing plans for new facilities and upgrade represents a significant investment, necessitating protection with the most effective pre-construction termite barrier.

In addition, given the school’s desire to provide a clean and safe environment for their students, a non-chemical solution for termite control was vital. Termimesh has been working alongside Parry and Rosenthal Architects to provide a full termite management system that meets this brief.

The College is situated on flat, predominantly sandy soil and termite activity in the area is common. With termite activity already detected onsite the possibility of attack to the new structures is deemed high.

Cluster

Requirements

Stage 5 of the development presented some challenges, with a large number of clustered pipe penetrations requiring termite protection. Termimesh is one of the few products on the market that can truly safeguard these highly vulnerable areas from termite ingress.

Termiflange’s are fabricated onsite out of a single piece of our mesh, that is formed and clamped around each individual pipe providing a continuous termite barrier. Clusters of pipework are becoming a common occurrence with a high number of electrical services now required in today’s modern builds.

Termimesh acts like a heavy duty security screen around these highly susceptible areas, as the concrete, when poured, does not fully encompass the pipes leaving easy access for termites.

Benefits

The Termimesh System, comprised of our proprietary TMA725 stainless steel mesh, Termiparge bonding cement and Termiflanges, not only met the strict requirement of no chemicals, but will continue to deliver ongoing reassurance and peace of mind with our market leading Pledge Guarantee.

The Pledge Guarantee provides our clients with a 10-year up front warranty requiring no annual inspections during that initial period. The warranty can be continuously extended with approved annual inspections from year 10 onwards.

The flexibility of Termimesh makes it the ideal termite barrier when presented with complex installation configurations. We work closely with our architectural and construction partners to customise the design and fit of the system to ensure ongoing protection.

If you would like to discuss how Termimesh or one of our other termite management systems can protect your next project, talk to our Perth pest control team, or contact your nearest service centre.
