Reliable termite protection for the Central Coast and Hunter
The Central Coast and Hunter region’s coastal humidity and temperate climate provide favourable conditions for subterranean termites. From new developments in Warnervale and Hamlyn Terrace to established suburbs like Gosford and Wyong, the risk to timber structures is persistent. For builders, architects and homeowners planning a new build or renovation, the construction stage is the most effective time to address termite protection.
Termi Home & Commercial NSW is managed by Mick Field. Our local team has been protecting homes and commercial projects across the Central Coast, Hunter, Sydney and Wollongong for over 20 years. That depth of experience in the region, combined with a national track record spanning more than two decades and hundreds of thousands of installations, gives our clients genuine confidence in the product and the people behind it.
What is the Termimesh System?
The Termimesh System is a physical termite management system installed during construction to prevent concealed termite entry into a building. It uses marine-grade TMA 725 stainless steel mesh that is too fine for termites to pass through and too strong for them to damage.
The mesh is fitted around service penetrations, along construction joints and around the building perimeter pre and post concrete pour, making it a permanent part of the building envelope. Once installed, it creates a continuous physical barrier that forces any termite activity into visible areas where it can be detected during inspections.
The system does not rely on chemicals and does not degrade over time. It complies with Australian Standard AS 3660.1 for termite management in new building work.
Why Central Coast builders rely on Termimesh
For builders working across Gosford, Wyong, Tuggerah, Warnervale, Lake Macquarie and surrounding areas, termite protection must be dependable, certified and simple to coordinate.
- Stainless steel rated for permanent coastal installations – the TMA 725 alloy is unaffected by the humidity and salt exposure that characterise the Central Coast and Hunter region, delivering performance that outlasts the building itself
- A purely mechanical barrier with no chemical component – no pesticide products enter the site, which simplifies safety procedures and avoids the ongoing chemical management that alternative treatments require
- Timed to your programme of works and completed before the pour – our team integrates with your build schedule to avoid any disruption, and there are no follow-up visits or retreatment bookings after handover
- Full AS 3660.1 documentation provided on completion – ready for building surveyors and private certifiers, with over 150 specification drawings on file for common residential and commercial slab configurations
Our Central Coast team works closely with site supervisors to fit installations around your construction schedule. We understand the pace of development across the region and make sure our work integrates without delays. Mick and the estimating team can review your plans and provide a detailed quote based on the specific design of the property.
Making a smart decision for your new home
If you are building a new home on the Central Coast, the termite management system is one of the most important decisions you will make during the build. It is easy to accept the standard inclusions from your builder, but it is worth understanding what alternatives are available and how they differ in the long run.
The coastal strip from Wollongong through Sydney to Newcastle is one of the most active termite corridors in New South Wales. Humidity, moderate temperatures and established tree cover create conditions that sustain large termite populations close to residential areas. A physical barrier takes the guesswork out of long-term protection. There is no retreatment to remember, nothing to reapply and minimal maintenance to complete. It does its job year after year without any intervention. For context, the average repair bill for structural termite damage in Australia sits well above what a barrier costs to install, and home insurers will not cover a cent of it.
If you have not yet locked in your termite protection, now is the time to raise it with your builder. Specifying Termimesh is a simple change that makes a significant difference to your long-term position.

We are based at Unit 4, 5 Bounty Close, Tuggerah and service the Central Coast, Hunter, Sydney and Wollongong regions.
How much does a termite barrier cost on the Central Coast?
Pricing depends on the individual build. A single-storey home on a standard rectangular slab will cost less to protect than a multi-level design with a complex footprint and a large number of service penetrations. We can provide a custom quote from your floor plans so you know exactly what the investment looks like before making a commitment.
Does home insurance cover termites in Australia?
In practice, no. Insurers classify termite damage as a preventable maintenance issue, which places it outside the scope of standard home and contents policies. If termites cause structural damage to your property, the full cost of assessment, treatment and repair sits with you. A physical barrier installed during construction is the most practical way to eliminate that exposure before it becomes a problem.
Can I request Termimesh if my builder does not offer it?
Absolutely. If your builder does not include Termimesh as a standard specification, you can request it as an upgrade. Builders can contact our Central Coast team directly for a quote based on the project plans. It is a straightforward conversation and any reputable builder will be open to accommodating the request.
